Welcome to the Town of Spencer Indiana



Spencer is a great place for residents and visitors alike.  From visiting McCormick’s Creek State Park, Indiana’s first national park, to the restored Historic Tivoli Theatre, there is plenty for residents to do in the town of Spencer. 

Located 55 miles southwest of Indianapolis, it is flanked by Bloomington to the east and Terre Haute to the west. To the south you will find Freedom, Worthington, and Switz City. It is situated in a valley along the north bank of the West Fork of the White River.  Spencer is a town in Washington Township, Owen County, Indiana, United States. The population was 2,217 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Owen County
